Despite the fact that Life Insurance Awareness Month has come to an end, the necessity for insurance is always there. If you haven’t already done so, now is the best time to get started with life insurance.
Singer-songwriter-producer Kelly Rowland visited us this month to talk about the importance of life insurance and why she’s so passionate about it.
With two young sons, Kelly is always looking for ways to improve the well-being of her family, and life insurance is an important part of that strategy. It’s a way for her to tell her boys, “I care.” There is nothing that can stop me from looking out for your best interests, no matter what. “
She discusses parenthood, her recent life, and life insurance in this interview.
When it comes to life, it’s inevitable: with the arrival of baby Noah, your family has had a wonderful year! It’s been a while since you’ve had a baby.
While staring at Noah in the middle of the night, I thought, “Wow!” because he is simply so delectable. I feel like a million bucks right now. I’ve completely changed after becoming a mother. It’s scary, yet I’m addicted to it.
Life insurance is an investment in the future of your boys, not only in the present. What does it mean to you to have life insurance?
Kelly: People don’t enjoy thinking about things like life insurance, but when you take care of them, you feel free. As if the weight of the world has been lifted from your shoulders, you should take a deep breath and relax.
(LH: Have you and your spouse spoken about what would happen if one of you were to die? Is there anything you’ve done to protect yourself, such as obtaining life insurance?
There was a day when my husband and I were in the vehicle crying because we love our kids so much. Kelly: I’ll never forget that talk.
However, a discussion I had with a friend who had just lost her spouse solidified it for me. She scolded me for not having life insurance when everything occurred so quickly. Kelly, you’ve got to get this done; it’s critical, “she said. To show your children how much you care about them, make the procedure as easy as possible for them.
It’s simply so true when you phrase it that way! For me, life insurance provides a sense of security and peace of mind. To me, this implies that my family may always look forward to it. When some individuals consider purchasing life insurance, they focus only on the potential financial burden of a demise. Because if I don’t confront this, it’s going to be real, they say. But it won’t “make it real,” as the saying goes. It’s a way to ensure that if anything happens to you, you can rest assured that your needs will be covered.
In your opinion, what is preventing individuals from getting life insurance?
Kelly: In my opinion, it all boils down to a lack of knowledge when it comes to life insurance. And, in particular, the African-American community, would be my point of emphasis. If we can educate people on what life insurance is and what it accomplishes for families, we’ve done our best work. In order to better assist individuals in understanding and getting the insurance they need, I’ve teamed up with Life Happens.
Last but not least, what song best describes where you are right now?
“Golden,” says Kelly. Because I’m so delighted, I’m a little afraid of what’s going to happen next. I pleaded with God, pleading with Him not to take anything away from me at this time. As a family, we are blessed with two wonderful kids, a lovely home, the ability to do things together, and a deep, abiding love. It’s really a glorious day.
